AI is Bigger than you Think, or Imagine…(therebe Dragons)

When was the last time you were talking to someone and you really knew who you were talking to? Of course most people do not actually talk to people in person much anymore, it is all virtual and Zoomy and bits and byte-y over the Facetalk-ey and Interweb…

So was that actually grandma you were chatting with on father’s day? (Probably because, well you know old people) BUT let’s say you get a called FROM grandma or your nephew, somehow stranded in a train station in Honduras or Cairo and absolutely needing 500 euros to get out of a jammy jam they fell into with some of the wrong side of the track folks, he is a desperate man, the shit has hit the fan….their exact words were “Send lawyers, guns and money”….(here is the link for that reference in case you need a musical interlude already…)

BUT, returning to the story…let’s say you swear by all that is good and bad, up and down all the way to heaven and back, to uncle Joe’s bad leg to aunt Rita’s gout that the voice you hear is that of your long estranged nephew or extremely close family friend from the church and questionable ‘getaways’ to the scout camp…??

It takes upwards of 3 seconds now for AI to ‘clone’ anyone’s voice and make it ‘say’ whatever you need it to…picture the scams that are available to the scammy scam artist…if you can’t, well, there are tons.

I’m sure this isn’t a scam machine, but it does look like it could be…most likely the scammers just use a phone

Continuing on with Artificial Intelligence…that’s AI for those who ‘know’ or do now congrats!….

And this is an image, that won a Photography contest, but the artist refused the prize after he admitted the image was AI generated….it is pretty cool but also so very very dangerous going forward (in my opinion anyway)…

And to end the AI section of today’s diatribe…meet LOAB….generating nightmares and creepy pics from the depths of a machine generated artist…looks a bit like Ozzy in my opinion…

Cleveland, Ohio

Just did a road trip to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and I gotta say, the folks in Cleveland, nicest people I have met in ages. Everyone is friendly, helpful and smiling. That’s all I wanted to say about that really….oh and did you know population of Cleveland was 600,000 in 1990…and is now like 300,000? Wow…

As for the RRHoF…was pretty cool. Have to say it was not as extensive as I expected, but lots of stuff in there, with (in my mind) quite a few ommissions..)…maybe I am missing the criteria for putting in a guitar or a used shirt from an artist, but yeah, some big personalities missing..but they did have Lowell George’s jacket and guitar (Little Feat) so there was that.

Neat Shit of The Week (NSoTW)

NOW, perhaps I am not the cleverest of men, nor the everest of men, mountains or otherwise, but I found out something this week I never really ever knew to be true…I do believe I was drawn into, gaslighted by society, the tax collectors, the big corporations etc…just like everyone else in the entire world (or pretty close anyway).

The studies that exist from real science and real smart people, states that alcohol does indeed cause over 7 types of CANCER. Like bad shit cancer. And it doesn’t matter if you shotgun a beer, drink shooters, snifters of cognac costing more than your car, elegant glasses from bottles of wine from the regions you have never been to, it is all alcohol…and it is all cancer causing. The more you read the worse it gets, along qith the more you drink the worse it gets.

Now, just because you drink doesn’t mean you will get cancer, just like one cigarette won’t kill you…BUT the risk is increased with drinking.

Now I don’t care one way or the other if anyone drinks or smokes or picks up cans on the side of the road (good for you if you do that by the way)….BUT what is amazing and interesting to me, is the complete lack of any warnings about this risk anywhere near the media, the advertising, the government…nowhere to be seen.

Conclusion

Anyways…there you go…I didn’t know that, maybe I did, but didn’t listen? But for sure the major message being tossed out there is if you need to relax, feel good or have a good time, alcohol is for you…

“but what about the cancer? Isn’t booze a poison anyway? I sure threw up a bunch last night…the other day I had a bunch of lemonade, didn’t feel great but didn’t miss work and didn’t throw up….so what’s the difference?”

“um, yeah…not an issue….please pair this wine, this whisky with this cheese or lamb…you will not regret it…plus we count on the revenue from the taxes so everyone wins…except maybe you and your family in the long run…but hey, that is a long time off right? Have a beer a forget about it….”
