The puffiness of the clouds was apparent as we descended deep into, onto? the Korean peninsula…I believe puffy is the technical term for cumulus clouds, even towering some may say…I will leave that to TC and U to decipher. (there is a meteorological joke buried in there, perhaps a first).
Neat Shit of The Week (NSoTW)
Seoul is known for its Koren-ness and total lack of horse drawn carriages. There are some other things like chicken and beer restaurants but mostly, at least in my experience, people here “Seoul” shouted loudly they immediately think of no horses. There are also no beavers in town as far as I can see.
What is really prevalent in Seoul are toilets. Amazing, fanciful items of toiletry telemetry that are wonders to behold, stand before and sit upon.
Behold their shining glory….(this is a raw image, just a picture taken with my phone)
This beacon of shit-holery glows with the anticipation of offerings throughout the night and into the day beyond…amazing in both is illumination and its technological advancements over the one-holer at the farm back home, the pissing tree, across from the van down by the river eating government cheese (where you will end up if you don’t stop rolling them doobies..listen to Matt Foley…)
But the controls for the glowing portal are indeed impressive, they controls almost make you forget as to why you are there…
So many options…some are not exceptionally clear as to their function upon first glance.
For example, the “CHILD” button….for accidental birth in toilet? For insemination? I don’t know.
And really, who doesn’t enjoy a good ole “HIP BATH’ once in a while? And for those followers of Greta and her earth saving pouting techniques, there is a power saving mode, which I assume is more carbon neutral than the other selection options of “AUTO” or “SUPER” for those tough, longer sessions I assume. And if it all becomes too much, too over the top or under the bottom as the case may be, there is of course the “STOP’ button to make it all, well, stop.
Anyway, there is a ton O’ fun for all here as you can see…great for retirement parties and post-Santa Parades.
The Internet Archive
Now this easily could have trumped the Korean toilet piece, well, maybe not because that thing was impressive….but this is a close second or third for sure.
I actually found this website, this archive whilst looking for recordings of Grateful Dead concerts. They played something like 2350 concerts, out of which 2200 were taped. Amazing amount of recorded history and a huge amount of music to listen to (yay!).
However, if you go and look at the internet archive, the amount of material there is mind numbing…and you probably do not need more shit to go and look at on the internet, but take a wander around and see for yourself:
One such distraction I found was in the Canadian library section, this book, in spanish for what looks like witchcraft…
You are even directed in one of the comments who said she had put a spell on her husband using Dr Jumba…
There is another where you can read about a discourse on witchcraft written in 1736:
There is literally everything in this database…collection of someone’s ‘78 rpm records:
If you wanted to read “Shackleton in the Antarctic : being the story of the British Antarctic expedition, 1907-1909” published in 1911, well you can, all for free.
Amazing stuff and all available right there at one’s fingertips. Now you have to stop scrolling through Instagram and other time wasting, mind rotting garbage to look..so keep that in mind. If that is your jam to keep killing off any hope of a decent future for yourself and your kinfolk, well, fill your boots.
Well, if you get tired of learning shit, there is cool stuff on there like old Pink Panther cartoons…
Or if you wanted to read a Pink Floyd 1975 tour comic book..it is all there and pretty neat.
And those who are looking for a Pete Townshend AND a Daivd Gilmour reference where blood is given…where they may even be parading their pallor in iniquity…
Every year is the same, And I feel it again, I’m a loser, no chance to win….
Remember, that even though you give blood, you may find that blood is not enough..
All that care of P. Townshend…I had a bit of escape there…even wen to the Secret Policeman’s Ball for a minute or two….thinking of Who tunes, Pete’s solo tunes…thanks for the indulgence. Crazy flipper fingers…
Her man’s been gone for nigh on a year, he was due home yesterday, but he’s still not here….
Music can take you away. Even if it is just a quick one while he’s away….It lets me forget the immediate and just “be”. Living in the present is such an exhilarating feeling. No planning, no thinking about you should or shouldn’t be doing..just do. Like the man Yoda says…just do.
There is only the here and now anyway. The music itself doesn’t really exist either if you think about it. It is there, the air molecules are vibratin’ one minute then the next, they ain’t.
The music only lives on in your head. It left no dust, no footprint, no mark on the floor…it was there and all you have is the feeling it left you with and perhaps the ringing in your ear if you are blasting some Scarlet Begonias on the way home from the airport, singing loudly with the windows open so you can keep it between the lines.
If I could play music and fish for the rest of my life, well, call me an idiot, this is whay I would do. And probably get one of those Korean toilets.
And drink really good coffee. Black, like my Seoul.
Blue side up Amigos.
